This is the Kaithari double mundu with kasavu — four metres of ivory handloom cotton bordered in muted emerald green flanked on both edges by kasavu lines that catch the light the way zari always does, quietly and completely. The kara is broad enough to register across a room. The kasavu is precise enough to reward the person standing close.
A double mundu with gold border belongs at occasions that matter. He knows this. He has always known this.
