This saree is woven on ivory handloom cotton and bordered in the most unapologetic combination in this collection: a forest green and a full-throated fuchsia, with kasavu threading through the centre of it all like gold through a celebration. The border is broad. The colours do not negotiate with each other — they simply hold their ground, each one exactly where the weaver put it, exactly as it was intended.
She is the youngest set in the Soza collection. Not in character — in spirit. The one for the woman who dresses for herself first, for the occasion second, and does not spend much time on the order.
